Ken Nelson Awards 2018/2019

About Coach Ken Nelson:

Coach Ken Nelson devoted more than 20 years to Lafayette youth sports.  Ken was a coach at St. Perpetua, Flight Elite, the Diablo Warriors, at Acalanes and Campolindo High Schools.  He was also the Athletic Director at St. Perpetua for many years.

Ken passed away in 2008 at the young age of 55.  He was a coach, friend and inspiration to so many in our community.

The Ken Nelson Award:

This award remebers and honors Ken Nelson for his devotion and contributions to CYO and our community. 

The Ken Nelson Award is presented to one player on each 8th grade team who best represents the values of CYO Athletics and Coach Ken Nelson.  Each recipient is selected to receive this award by his or her teammates based on the following qualities/criteria:

 

  • Leadership
  • Sportsmanship
  • Effort & Hard Work
  • Teamwork
  • Attitude
  • Respect
This award is the culmination of our 8th grade recipients' career in CYO Basketball. The St. Perpetua CYO Advisory Board and community congratulate this year's winners for their accomplishment.
